Information about Covid-19

As I have been hearing various Covid-related news from people and sources, from time to time I get irritated because some people just don’t seem to get what’s going on, and don’t have access to true information about the spread of the Coronavirus and Covid-19. One friend sent me a video that had a new-age guru suggesting taking lots of vitamin C. Hey, this is silly.

There are no miracle cures at this time, except the generally-accepted social distancing and stay-at-home mantra.

Here is an example of a composite of some information comparison from the New York Times (see link below) that I made into a single picture that gives an idea of what is going on. These are graphs of Virginia, Hawaii, Brazil, and Russia. You can find all this information, and much more, on the page I reference below. Hopefully, I will be updating and enhancing this page for you.

My point here is that if you are living in Hawaii, which is on lock-down as of May 9, and Maui is even safer, you have virtually no incidence of the virus or Covid-19. However, if you are in Virginia or Brazil, the numbers are going off the charts, because the government is or was more or less encouraging people to party on like usual. Some are encouraging going back to business completely as usual.

Please, folks, wear a mask, stay 2 meters away from anyone but your immediate family members, wash your hands often, and don’t touch your face. Don’t invite your friends over even if you think they are healthy, and don’t hang around with their teenage kids! You don’t know who they socialized with 20 minutes ago.

Don’t hang around with anyone else for more than a few minutes. This is not rocket science. You want to socialize? Use Zoom to get together on the computer or on phones. You can handle the separation! Drink wine, smoke dope. This is a pandemic we are talking about here!

I have found that the best source for info is the New York Times, and I am going to share below the page where you can navigate and find infection rates, deaths, and just about anything else you want. You have to poke around a little bit,but it is all there. The NYTimes is allowing anyone to get to Covid-related articles at no charge, no subscription. Here is the page:

If you scroll down this page, there are links to any combination of information you want, by country, US state, city, everything.

Please be careful, and stay safe.
